Secure the data from a sensor data logger in 3 steps: Identification, Authentication, and Authorization using STSAFE-A, a Secure Element acting as a secure enclave on your application; without the need to encrypt or protect the logged data and therefore limiting the encryption to a minimum.
1:55 pm – 2:30 pm
Presenter: Louis Gobin, STMicroelectronics
This session will walk you through the product portfolio from traditional AI frameworks to ST's innovative approach for embedded developers. You will walk away with an understanding of AI and how to use ST’s wireless products and tools to accelerate the time-to-market of your smart wireless projects. We will conclude the session by exploring use cases of wireless applications using AI to design new or optimize existing applications.
2:35 pm – 3:10 pm
Presenter: Antonio Mascioli, STMicroelectronics
In this presentation we will provide an overview of the key design concepts to be aware of when working with Bluetooth® LE and sub-GHz designs. The goal is to walk away with an idea of how to achieve an optimal RF design the first time.
3:15 pm – 3:50 pm
Presenter: Ozcan Yurt, STMicroelectronics
Bluetooth® LE Audio is the latest innovation from the Bluetooth® group of companies that enables powerful audio transmission and sharing while reducing the current consumption of Bluetooth® Classic.
3:55 pm – 4:30 pm
Presenter: Robin Canaguier, STMicroelectronics
Connecting smart home devices with different devices from different manufacturers has always been a challenge. Matter® is the simplification of the connectivity standards, making it easy for consumers to connect all their devices and enable seamless compatibility. STMicroelectronics is fully committed to supporting matter®, and the STM32WB5x family of devices and X-CUBE-MATTER enable this connectivity.
9:30 am – 11:30 am
Presenter: Antonio Mascioli, STMicroelectronics
The STM32WL provides a powerful PHY sub-system enabling versatile private network configurations. The key aspects of a typical network configuration are addressed: Basic setup of HUB and NODE configurations, key technical elements of synchronous (time slot) versus asynchronous communications, and the implementation of dynamic link modulation to optimize network throughput as a function of both distance and link quality. We will also discuss a method of providing a network clock for precise node synchronization along with the introduction of a mesh overlay extension. These configurations run with standard STM32WL Nucleo boards.
12:20 pm – 2:20 pm
Presenter: Yash Brahmbhatt, STMicroelectronics
The rise of wireless mesh connectivity, particularly Zigbee®, is transforming applications by offering increased flexibility and a more intuitive user experience. In this workshop, you will:
2:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Presenter: Jim Barlow, STMicroelectronics
Join this hands-on session to learn how to add communication capability to simple projects. You will use the latest ST25R200 NFC reader board and ST25T NFC Tags to achieve Accessory Identification and usage logging, brand protection, and product configuration with additional end user experience. You will learn how to use Augmented NDEF features, tamper detect, and TrustST25.
This workshop is intended for firmware devlopers, system integrators, design engineers, and technology architects developing embedded solutions on STM32 microcontrollers. An ST25R200 Discovery Kit will be provided to the first 30 participants.

Join this hands-on workshop to learn how to implement Matter in your future smart home projects using an STM32 Discovery Kit. You will follow a technical presentation, discussion, and step-by-step labs to teach you how to leverage the powerful X-CUBE-MATTER SDK to create your own Matter-compatible application. Our technical experts will also share with you the benefits of Matter and best practice guidelines to efficiently start your development.
Matter is a freely available connectivity standard for smart home and IoT (Internet of Things) devices. It aims to improve interoperability and compatibility between different manufacturers and security, and always allowing local control as an option. Widely supported by all the smart home device providers and big tech companies like Apple, Amazon, Google, Samsung, etc., it is already forecasted to be in every home in the coming years.
The lab sessions for this course will use the STM32WB5MM-DK Discovery Kit as the hardware platform, and you will learn how to run the X-CUBE-MATTER STM32Cube expansion package. The expansion package offers the full integration of Matter for the STM32WB55 MCU or module, using STM32CubeIDE integrated development environment.
This workshop is open to all participants of ST Santa Clara Wireless Technology Tour. A wireless STM32WB55 development kit (STM32WB5MM-DK) is required and will be provided to each attendee to perform the lab exercises. Registrants will not need to purchase any additional hardware.
Agenda
Prerequisites
1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Presenter: Xin Qiu Ph.D., Senior Director - CommScope
In this session, we will provide an overview of the Matter security framework and how CommScope and ST's pre-integrated solution facilitates device makers with Matter DAC provisioning. Learn how to work with CommScope to make your Matter journey easy from the beginning all the way to production launch.
Alternatively, explore our platform using the PKIWorks Web Portal, which is ideal for device makers who want to design their own provisioning process and are only looking for CommScope to issue DACs.
Prerequisites
CommScope will be providing laptops and development boards for attendees to use during the hands-on workshop.
If an attendee prefers to use their own laptop, the following are the prerequisites:
Note: The development boards required for the lab sessions will be provided by CommScope for use during the workshop and collected at the end of the training.
