Bluetooth-enabled IoT applications are becoming increasingly more demanding in terms of range, quantity of data advertised, and power budget—particularly in beacon applications. Designers thus are challenged with finding ways to further extend battery life in their applications without sacrificing communication performance and robustness.
We will show you how to meet these challenges using ST's BlueNRG-LP, a Bluetooth Low Energy 5.2 certified system-on-chip (SoC) supporting LE Power Control that combines power optimization with best-in-class radio performance. Support for Bluetooth Low Energy Power Control (LEPC) enables this already ultra-low power device to reduce consumption even further, allowing engineers to maximize an application's battery life while also ensuring a robust communication link.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the theory behind LEPC and how the BlueNRG-LP SoC uses it to extend battery life and maintain excellent RF performance. Our experts will then show you how to start developing with the BlueNRG-LP and configure LEPC parameters to meet your specific application requirements.
This workshop is self-paced and can be accessed on-demand any time after the start of the selected session. Live technical support via break-out rooms will be available during the scheduled session hours.
This workshop is intended for firmware developers, system integrators, design engineers, and technology architects developing IoT embedded solutions.
This workshop is open to residents of the Americas only.
Two evaluation kits (2 x STEVAL-IDB011V1 or STEVAL-IDB011V2) are required to participate in the workshop exercises. These kits are evaluation platforms designed to help you develop and test Bluetooth low energy applications using the BlueNRG-LP SoC.
If you do not already have two of these kits, a limited number will be available exclusively for attendees of this workshop on a buy one, get one free basis for a price of about $68.00 USD (total for both kits). You will receive purchase instructions by email soon after we receive your request to participate.
You will need to either confirm that you already have the two kits, or complete the purchase of the discounted kits using a coupon code in order to be confirmed to attend. For the purposes of this workshop, the STEVAL-IDB011V1 and STEVAL-IDB011V2 kits are interchangeable.
The use of two screens is recommended so that you can watch, pause, and rewind the instruction video on one screen while completing the workshop tasks on the other.
